What is the EASY Program?

The EASY Program! It aims to help smokers overcome the addiction of tobacco, vaporizers and electronic cigarettes in an integral way, using a holistic approach that combines the modification of habits, well-being practices, emotional support and coaching techniques for sustainable change.

Through integrative health coaching, the program provides a holistic transformation of the individual, addressing not only the physical behavior of smoking, but also the emotional and mental aspects that involve addiction.

The programme is divided into four main pillars:

How does this quit smoking program work in 5 phases?

The EASY Program is divided into five phases, with a continuous follow-up for 12 months to ensure that the change is sustainable and lasting, ending this addiction

Phase 1: Preparation for the Change (1st Month – Weekly Sessions)

Objective: To raise awareness of the benefits of quitting smoking, increase motivation and build a plan for “D-Day”.

Steps

  1. Identification of personal reasons for quitting smoking, such as health, finances and personal well-being.
  2. Evaluation of the stage in the change process
  3. Construction of the “D-Day” plan: Set the day that the coachee will stop smoking. During the sessions, the student will be encouraged to prepare mentally and physically for that day.
  4. Strategies for facing reality and managing anxiety and stress without resorting to smoking, such as meditation, deep breathing and physical activity.
  5. Commitment to change, because the “D-Day” will be an important milestone in the cessation journey.

Phase 2: The “D-Day” (Beginning of Month 2 – Weekly Sessions)

Objective: Implement smoking cessation with “D-Day”, strengthening commitment to change and offering emotional and behavioral support.

Steps

  1. Arrival of the “D-Day”: This is the set time to stop smoking. During the sessions of the previous week, it will be discussed how to deal with the first day without smoking, how to minimize withdrawal symptoms and how to apply strategies to live this new reality.
  2. Daily monitoring and ongoing support: During the week of “D-Day”, the coachee should keep a progress journal documenting feelings, challenges and victories. The integrative health coach will follow up daily or through support messages to ensure that you remain encouraged and motivated.
  3. Post-Day “D-Day” reflection: After the “D-Day”, make a reflection on the first 48 hours, the challenges faced and victories, helping to consolidate change and strengthen commitment.
  4. Reinforcement of self-esteem: Discuss the feelings of pride and conquest by not giving in to addiction.

Phase 3: Continuation of the Change (2nd Month – Biweekly Sessions)

Objective: To ensure that the change will be sustainable, preventing relapses.

Steps

  1. Follow-up of adaptation without smoking, follow-up of how to deal with abstinence and emotional or social triggers.
  2. Review of progress and difficulties. The time has come to evaluate the positive impact of cessation on general well-being and discuss any difficulties (anxiety, irritability, weight gain, etc.).
  3. Confidence building, and we need to continue working on strengthening self-confidence by reinforcing the coachee’s commitment to the benefits of change.

Prevention of relapses in risk situations (moments of stress, parties, alcohol consumption, etc.).

Phase 4: Consolidation and Maintenance (3rd Month – Biweekly Sessions)

Objective: Consolidate the change and ensure that the coachee stands firm in his decision not to smoke.

Steps

  1. Maintaining motivation, staying focused on the reasons for not smoking and the rewards you experience.
  2. Long-term prevention of relapses, strengthening strategies to keep smoking out of the choices.
  3. Continuous psychological support, being crucial to provide emotional support to equip the participant with tools to deal with challenging situations without resorting to smoking.

Construction of a plan for prevention of relapses (ex: find alternatives to social situations that used to be triggers).

Phase 5: Final Consolidation (Monthly Follow-up Sessions – 6 Months)

Objective: To ensure the maintenance of behavior and prevent relapses.

Steps

  1. Ongoing support for maintenance. With the monthly sessions, we seek to maintain the decision to stop smoking and control relapses.
  2. Development of skills to deal with new challenges, without resorting to tobacco.

Continuous emotional and psychological support, through reinforcement sessions to ensure support, preparation and maintenance.
